Get in or get out?

Here is a perfect example of what I think is wrong with Iraq- "Marine officers on the ground have been open for more than a year now about needing more troops in Anbar..." and "Sniper's alley-
U.S. forces have called in repeated strikes by air and by artillery on the heart of Ramadi. Marines defend a five-block area of downtown that holds the local government, now a sniper's alley where U.S. forces move at a run to elude insurgent guns", either give them the reins and muscle to do their job properly or bring them home. "In many weeks, Marines in Ramadi have accounted for one-third to half of all American combat deaths in Iraq. " It appears that the politicans have decided they know more the military, again. more muscle needed? Kill them all, kill a few, but make sure the American military can provide for itself, please. Iraq has now declared the above area a state of emergency.

Odd ain't it. Just last week or so this country was ready to defend itself. Now declares a state of emergency for help.

This has been my biggest gripe all along, get out or get enough people on the ground to take care of the show. It looks as if we can't decide what to do, leaving the Iraqis to fight amongst themselves would have been better than this. I also saw the headlines on a story that said Russia helped smuggle what WMD's there were out of the country, as we were sharing intell, they would be a jump ahead of the ground troops and inspectors.

We could ban the press, all of it, and let our boys do their job. I know that will never happen. We should have learned in the 60's and early 70's there is no such thing as a "nice" war. If you're not willing to get down and dirty, it's time to get out.

They still have the weapons in Syria according to Saddam's former chief of staff. They were smuggled out on 747's and taken to Syria in a deal between Saddam and Syria's leader. Apparently they covered it up by saying the planes were delivering supplies for flood damaged areas in Syria.

Todays call by Iraq,, for an emergency has officially made this the Vietnam of this generation.

I was under the impression we were ready to start a gradual withdraw.
After today. No way will we be able to withdraw.

And the acqusations of wrong doing is already going.

From what i hear and i know many of the Vets on here know the call. But it's all danger close in this area of Iraq.

Syria is/was a cover story, but like all the predictions of how this war would pan out, (it should be pretty clear now) you will have to wait and see. Or get better info.

War is war. Ugly and kill or be killed. Anything less than a total effort is a waste of lives, in my mind. Here is a shot of a rooftop position where our troops were halted for days giving time to dig in in Fallujah, orders from the top.In one area, everytime an adult target was taken down, a child was sent to gather the weapons and ammo, knowing that our troops aren't known for killing kids. The time wasted before launching the attack cost lives. I wish someone would lead us out of this mess, before we spend enough to break the country and kill anymore of our troops. Saddam is long gone, Iraq isn't worth it.
